Delightful Visit to Halaban Restoration Site

Looks like someone had party last night in our restoration site! Around 4 AM, when our restoration workers who stayed the night in the cabin came back to the village, apparently these wild elephants secretly honoured us with this visit. As ’the elephant season’ (a term used to explain the groups of elephants pass their home range area on particular time in particular place) around our restoration is started from April to September and with this month as the peak season. This time, the cabin’s kitchen couldn’t hold against the biggest animal on earth.

For awhile, the elephants avoided this area since it was open area before the restoration project. Now, as the trees in our restoration site grow very well, the wildlife is starting to come around. We are confident to say, this visit is to congratulate us for the succesful stage of our restoration in the forest of Leuser.

Rio, the restoration manager stated “this is the last stage of restoration, a completion of the long hard work. Wildlife existence is the symbol of restoration success”. Do we stop here since it is done? Not quite likely. Too much too count damage land is still waiting for us to restore. With everyone’s support, no matter how small, it counts. Let makes the future will be always fine!
