Bukit Lawang is one of the most famous tourism destinations in the world that can give the visitors a guarantee to see orangutan every day. Despite its famous, Bukit Lawang has many things to improve to meet the international standard of ecotourism spot. From the public road to the related facilities such as public toilet and etc. This year is quite special as the Gunung Leuser National Park (GLNP) authority creates many project development within the area. “This facility is built to the convenience of the visitors, in case they need the toilet before they do the trekking inside. This toilet is needed as many visitors have suggested to the authority many times” said Tomin, one of the national park ranger. “I think it is important as me, personally, like the clean and convenient toilet if I can have it” Said Louis, one of the visitors from the US. However, a different perspective comes from different visitor “I don’t think this project is necessary if you have hectares of open toilet here, in the forest. I believe the money will be more useful for sign boards to educate the visitors more for the sustainable and responsible orangutan viewing tour” said Sabie, one of the visitors from Canada.
