We begin our conservation plan by listening to local communities
Local communities play important role in succeeding our conservation programme. Thus, listening to what the main issues and obstacles that they face on a daily basis and put it into our strategic conservation programme is significant to ensure the sustainability of our project.

Last week from 4th to 7th January 2017, the OIC together with Gunung Leuser National Park and some other community organization held various community meetings and led a series of discussion with the local people in four villages adjacent to the Leuser forest. These meetings aimed to map the main issues facing the community in each village so we can propose better conservation project that will emphasize active participation of local community in an effort to improve their livelihood and the conservation of Leuser forest.

The local people is not only a complimentary, they are the significant element that can sustain the forest conservation as it is part of their own environment. Gaining their trust and encourage them to work with us is not an option but a must. Want to support us to work with the local? Please help us by donating now.
