Our HOCRU team keep doing good work as always, vital to sustain the survival of orangutans in Sumatra. Together with Gunung Leuser National Park authority, North Sumatra BBKSDA and WCS team, OIC HOCRU team evacuated a severely injured female orangutan from Penampean sub-village, Sei Musam village, Batang Serangan subdistrict, Langkat district – North Sumatera, today (Tuesday, 6th March 2018).

Named Rose, this lady was found with broken and infected fingers as well 2 air riffle bullets within her body. Finding her unwell condition, Rose was rushingly taken to SOCP quarantine centre. Finally at the safe hands, Rose will have medical treatment and she will be released once she is ready.
