Second Chance at Life for Monik, a 4 Years Old Orangutan

A female orangutan baby, estimated 4 years old, was rescued on Monday (18/09/017) by a rescue team consisting of BKSDA Aceh, OIC, and KPH 3 Aceh.

Monik, so the orangutan was named, was found by a member of the Mobile Brigade Police Force in Aramiah, East Aceh. After keeping Monik in a cage for a few months, the police decided to call KPH as he felt worry for the future safety of the orangutan.

Monik is now in SOCP quarantine centre for further medical check up and rehabilitation process and someday be released in the wild.
