Second Chance Given

Second Chance Given

Receiving a report in our call centre about a presence of orangutan isolated inside of oil palm plantation, the OIC HOCRU team responded by checking the area. According to the HOCRU team observation, it was found that a mother and orangutan baby was isolated far away from the forest area. This situation was very worrying as some of the farmers taken their presence as the pest.

This mother and baby were smoothly evacuated

Finding the worrying situation, the team decided to evacuate this mother and baby orangutan by working together with Aceh KSDA and GLNP authority. From general health check-up, the mother is estimated about 25 years old with 1,5 years old baby. For our relieve, they also have a good health condition and can be released on the same day to Leuser forest. In the day, the second chance was given to these orangutans to live in freedom. ” For the future terms, we will keep rescueing orangutan in need” said Krisna, the HOCRU team coordinator. No words can describe how happy we are! Keep supporting our HOCRU team, people.
